Position Summary and Responsibilities


Responsible for timely and accurate execution of accounting related tasks. Selects, develops, and leads processes to ensure the efficient operation of the accounting function and prioritizes all the aspects related with financial reporting and transactions.  Plans and administers procedures and budgets.  Receives assignments in the form of objectives with goals and process to meet goals outlined. Duties are performed under very limited supervision. This position reports to the site controller.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. (other duties may be assigned):

  • Obtain, maintain, and manage the complete financial reports.
  • Prepares timely and accurate RF&M month-end close journal entries (revenue, COGS, operational expenses, Excess/Obsolete material reserve, warranty reserve, etc.) in accordance with corporate accounting standards
  • Prepares balance sheet reconciliations (accounts managed locally)
  • revenue recognition process (point in time and overtime sales)
  • Supports the budget and forecasting activities in the organization.
  • Supports audit process and ensuring it gets completed properly
  • Assign proper GL coding and review reasonableness of Non- MRP driven purchase requisitions
  • Prepares annual incurred cost proposal for government
  • Prepares RF&M bid rates and provisional billing rates as needed.
  • Monitor daily inventory transactions
  • Assist with physical inventory
  • Provide adhoc analysis and reports as needed and requested by Site Controller
  • Interacts with functional peer groups regarding exchange or presentation of information.
  • Pursues new ways to improve the efficiency of production. Develops, plans, and administers procedures.  Recommends changes to unit or sub-unit policies.  Coordinates, develops, and implements standard operating procedures for functional area.
  • Prepares monthly reports.
  • Identifies obstacles to achieving business goals and provides solutions or seeks assistance.
  • Ensures the working environment is clean, organized, and safe for employees always.
  • Regularly interacts with senior management or executive levels on matters concerning several functional areas, divisions and/or customers.
  • May be tasked to change the thinking, or gain acceptance of others in sensitive situations.
  • Daily availability to include evenings and weekends when necessary to reach goals and deadlines.

Education and/or Experience: Bachelor's degree (B.A.) in Accounting from four-year college or university in a related positions and 10-15 years of directly related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. CPA preferred.

Experience with revenue recognition ASC606 is a plus.

Knowledge of government contractor accounting, FAR and DFAR a plus.


Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.  Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. 

Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have a general knowledge of Microsoft Office and ERP/MRP Software.


Other Essential Duties

  • Follows all import/export requirements, consulting with facility import/export personnel as required. 

Other Skills and Abilities

  • Basic Knowledge of ISO and/or AS9100
