As part of our network contracting team, you'll contribute to the development and support of Provider Networks as well as unit cost management activities through financial and network pricing modeling, analysis, and reporting. This will be a hybrid (in-office and telecommute*) position, open to candidates in New York City or the surrounding area.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Manage unit cost budgets, target setting, performance reporting and associated financial models
  • Guide development of geographically competitive, broad access, stable networks that achieve objectives for unit cost performance and trend management
  • Evaluate and negotiate contracts in compliance with company templates, reimbursement structure standards and other key process control
  • Ensure that network composition includes an appropriate distribution of provider specialties
  • Provide explanations and information to others on difficult issues
  • Coach, provide feedback and guide others

Required Qualifications:

  • College degree or equivalent experience
  • 4+ years of experience in a network management-related role, such as contracting or provider services
  • Knowledge of Medicare Resource Based Relative Value System (RBRVS)
  • Intermediate level of knowledge of claims processing systems and guidelines
  • Located in New York City or the surrounding area
  • Full COVID-19 vaccination is an essential job function of this role. Candidates located in states that mandate COVID-19 booster doses must also comply with those state requirements. UnitedHealth Group will adhere to all federal, state and local regulations as well as all client requirements and will obtain necessary proof of vaccination, and boosters when applicable, prior to employment to ensure compliance. Preferred Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience in fee schedule development using actuarial model
  • 3+ years of experience using financial models and analysis to negotiate rates with providers
  • 3+ years of experience in performing network adequacy analysis
