Robert Half is looking for an experienced Staff Accountant with an eye for accuracy to fill a long-term contract / temporary position at a growing Non-Profit company. The Staff Accountant is responsible for preparing monthly and year-end closings, journal entries, fixed asset maintenance, bank reconciliation, and general ledger reconciliation. During the monthly close, you will be responsible for many aspects of internal reporting. In addition, you will support the development and implementation of accounting policies. In addition, you will participate in compliance, review schedules for the reporting processes, and work alongside our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits. This position is very involved as it will produce Cash Flow projections, Budgets, and Financial Statements. What you get to do every day

  • Provide leadership and oversight of the accounting function.
  • Manage the processing of cash receipts and invoicing, working closely with the Analyst and Program Teams to ensure that revenues and receivables are recorded correctly.
  • Maintain the general ledger.
  • Prepare and enter journal entries for month end in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Maintain the Fixed Asset and associated depreciation schedules; insure proper recording of new purchases and disposals. 
  • Perform such other accounting, financial, or administrative tasks as may be required from time to time – quite often on short notice.
  • Manage employee credit card charges, and daily banking.
  • Manage ACH and on-line payments.
  • Perform general accounts analysis and reconciliations, including bank statements, accounts receivables, fixed assets, employer’s benefit costs, accruals and prepaid expenses.

  • Submit quarterly use tax reports
