Our location in Santa Clara, CA currently has an opportunity for a Sr. Software Engineer, Product Cybersecurity.   

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

The Sr. Software Engineer, Product Cybersecurity will be responsible for implementing the Abbott Hematology Product Cybersecurity strategy. You will architect, design and develop the software security features for multiple products and platforms. In this role, you will be responsible for all deliverables associated with the internal and external product security procedures and standards. You will also be responsible for implementing a strategy for the monitoring and maintenance of on-market products.

Responsibilities

  • Implement software security solutions and architect/design products in accordance with industry accepted standards for medical device security including: encryption, disaster recovery, authentication, audit logging, hardening measures, patch management, vulnerability monitoring, and antivirus/antimalware requirements. 

  • Evaluate product designs and provide solutions to remediate security vulnerabilities through product security risk assessments, vulnerability scans, and static and dynamic code analysis tools.

  • Work independently to specify, plan, design, develop, test and support software components as assigned. 

  • Work with team to establish necessary requirements specifications and test plans for software product validation. 

  • Responsible for researching, recommending, estimating, prototyping, and/or initiating the development of products, methodologies, and technologies. 

  • Present/Participate in design reviews and code inspections. 

  • Implement solutions to assigned defect issues. 

  • Anticipate system faults, failure modes, and unusual events, making sure the software adequately mitigates identified risks. 

Requirements

Required

  • Associates degree in a related field with 10+ years of experience Or

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field with 6+ years of experience Or

  • Master’s degree in a related field with 4+ years of experience                    

  • Experience covering the entire software lifecycle in a team-oriented environment

  • Experience in object-oriented analysis and design.

Preferred

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or Math.

  • 6+ years' experience in software development engineering.

  • 6+ years' experience in Object Oriented Design and Object Oriented Programming.

  • 3 + years’ work experience using secure coding practices.

  • 3 + years' experience with C#/.NET.

  • Experience with encryption algorithms.

  • Experience with Dynamic and Static code analysis tools.

  • Demonstrated understanding of developing in a regulated environment and adhering to a quality management system Action oriented with a focus on results.

  • Demonstrated positive work ethic with a strong commitment to achieving project goals.

  • Excellent written and oral communication and interpersonal skills are essential.

  • Experience with the Agile\Scrum process.
