Position Summary and Responsibilities
Provides management leadership for all production activities of the Components and Subsystems product line. Maximizes customer satisfaction by shipping quality products on time. Implements cross-training of products and personnel across product areas. Provides critiques of new designs to improve manufacturability.
Directs the development and implementation of activities in manufacturing test to meet production goals, quality, and cost objectives. Prioritizes production schedules based on product introduction, equipment efficiency, and materials supply. Plans and administers procedures and budgets. Makes budgetary recommendations regarding and, at higher levels, controls capital expenditures and direct/indirect labor. Develops schedules and manpower requirements for assigned areas.
Oversees cross-training and development of manufacturing staff to support timely product transitions from engineering and achieve a broader skill set to support the diverse product bookings. Manages complex revenue flow for multiple sub-departments. Meets gross margin and revenue objective for the product line. Works closely with support groups to coordinate activities required to make weekly shipments.
Develops lower-level management to increase efficiency and effectiveness of the group’s abilities. Oversees training and troubleshooting, performance to schedule, barcode accuracy, and calibration of equipment for compliance. Makes constant improvements on company metrics for on-time shipments, PoNC, linear shipments, and reduced RMA count. Plans, manages, and coordinates capital equipment. Participates in helping to define the manufacturing flow and documentation for the group.
- Good reading and writing skills required.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office.
- 15 or more years previous experience working in a Production environment
- 5 or more years of previous experience in managing high tech manufacturing group with direct reports
- Familiar with RF/Microwave test and assembly equipment
- Knowledgeable with MRP system and material planning
- Bachelor’s degree in Business or Engineering preferred
