Primary Responsibilities:

  • Supports network development and service activities to effectively manage network including but not limited to outbound calls to secure provider service agreements for all lines of business

  • Participates in the evaluation of the provider network and the implementation of strategic plans to meet client or state mandated network adequacy standards

  • Initiates tasks to generate provider service agreements and ensures delivery to provider

  • Follow up on any missing or incomplete documents needed to finalize provider service agreements

  • Performs assigned tasks to implement new provider networks and to maintain necessary network access levels in accordance with internal and external performance standards. These tasks include, but are not limited to; provider contracting calls, provider recruiting, ensuring contract compliance and integrity

  • Assists with the communication of contract terms, reimbursement rates and benefits to provider community clearly and professionally as needed

  • Contribute to design and implementation of programs that build/nurture positive relationships between the health plan, providers and practice managers

  • Support development and management of provider networks

  • Help implement training and development of external providers through education programs

  • Identify gaps in network composition and services to assist network contracting and development teams

  • Accountable for escalated issues and for providers, analyzes trends in servicing to recommend improvements in processes and provider NPS

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma/ GED (or higher) OR 4+ years experience in a provider support role

  • 2+ years of managed care or medical insurance experience

  • 2+ years experience in a provider support role

  • 1+ year of experience with government sponsored (Medicaid and Medicare) lines of business

  • Proven oral communication skills including telephone etiquette

  • Intermediate proficiency with MS programs including Excel and Word

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate degree

Colorado, Connecticut or Nevada Residents Only: The salary range for Colorado residents is $21.68 to $38.56. The salary range for Connecticut / Nevada residents is $23.94 to $42.40. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
