The successful candidate will responsible for the implementation of critical IT communications systems for the client.
Objective: Provide telecommunications support. This includes but is not limited to:

  • Provide monitoring of and interaction between various computer systems, communication methods, and devices
  • Ensure communications systems function properly by maintaining network circuits and equipment
  • Design of video, data, and voice communication systems
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Works well independently and in a team setting

Typical Tasks:

  • Establishing data and voice networks, testing equipment, correcting problems, troubleshooting, updating documentation, and following safety procedures
  • Recommend, design, support, and maintain secure and non-secure VoIP telephone systems including Cisco Unified Communications Manager, quality of service (QoS), gateways, IP Phones, voice applications and utilities on Cisco routers and Cisco Catalyst switches
  • Responsible for optimal network performance of the IT telecommunications systems ensuring continued uninterrupted operation of the IT telephony systems
  • Collaborate with all areas of the IT organization including IT Systems and Network staff to resolve critical issues and to reduce end user issues with VoIP hardware and/or applications including wiring and cabling
  • Liaise with the Engineering organization to ensure appropriate involvement and coordination of both organizations as it relates to communications projects and issues
  • Assist the IT management in providing analysis on budgets and key projects associated with telecommunications
  • Assist in researching alternative for procuring new telecommunication hardware and software

Job Requirements:

  • Must have current work experience with Cisco VoIP, CUCM and UCCX
  • 4+ years of Telecommunications support experience
  • Must have working knowledge of Microsoft desktop and server operating systems and direct experience with Cisco routers and switches
  • Cisco Certified Network Professional Voice certification preferred
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment
  • Demonstrated self-starter capable of taking initiative
  • Ability to prioritize work with minimal supervision
