General Statement of Job: The Human Resources Generalist is responsible for providing professional Human Resources support for all SIS employees and departments throughout the company. This position reports to the Human Resources Manager. Essential Job Functions: Train and advise management and employees on SIS Human Resources policies and processes; provide recommendations for handling employee relations issues as they relate to company policy Investigate and resolve employee complaints filed with federal agencies involving employment practices or working conditions, utilizing professional resources as necessary Coordinate and research unemployment claims, attend and represent SIS at appeals hearings as necessary Perform other related duties as required Minimum Qualifications and Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field or equivalent experience Two plus years experience as a Human Resources Generalist Human Resources Certification (PHR or SHRM) Knowledge of federal, state, and local labor laws and regulations Proficient in PC and iOS software including word processing, data analysis, presentation, email, calendaring programs, and HRM software Must be a dependable team player with business maturity and enthusiasm with the ability to deliver a high level of customer service What we can offer: Pay starts at $60,000 but goes up depending on previous time as an HR Generalist and if you have your HR certification (SHRM or PHR) Health, Dental, Vision, and 401k for eligible employees Paid Time Off including Sick/Safe Time A dynamic and challenging work environment with opportunity for growth (ADA) Minimum Qualifications or Standards Required to Perform Essential Job Functions Data Conception: Requires the ability to compare and/or judge the readily observable functional, structural, or compositional characteristics (whether similar to or divergent from obvious standards) of data, people, or things. Requires the ability to write job-related documents. Requires the ability to speak with and before others with poise, voice control, and confidence using correct English and well-modulated voice. Intelligence: Requires the ability to learn and understand relatively complex principles and techniques related to job duties; to make independent judgments in absence of supervision; to acquire knowledge of topics related to primary occupation. Numerical Aptitude: Requires the ability to utilize mathematical formulas; add, subtract, multiply and divide figures; determine percentages; determine time weight. Form/Spatial Aptitude: Requires the ability to inspect items for proper length, width, and shape, visually with job-related equipment. Motor Coordination: Requires the ability to coordinate hands and eyes in using job-related equipment. Manual Dexterity: Requires the ability to handle a variety of items including computer equipment, control knobs, switches, other job-related equipment, etc. Must have the ability to use one hand for twisting or turning motion while coordinating another hand with different activities. Must have above-average levels of eye/hand/foot coordination. Color Discrimination: Requires the ability to differentiate colors and shades of color. Interpersonal Temperament: Requires the ability to deal with people beyond giving and receiving instructions related to job function. The worker needs to relate to people in situations involving more than giving or receiving instructions under stressful situations. Must be adaptable to performing under considerable stress when confronted with an emergency. Physical Communication: Requires the ability to talk and/or hear: talking, expressing, or exchanging ideas by means of spoken words; those activities in which they must convey detailed or important spoken instructions to others accurately, loudly, or quickly. Requires the ability to hear: perceiving the nature of sounds at normal speaking levels with or without correction; ability to receive detailed information through oral communication, and to make the discriminations in sound. Technical Skills: Requires ability to utilize skills relating to computers and electronic devices and grasp related processes; ability to operate and activate computer as it relates to job-related functions. Position: Must be able to maintain a stationary position combined with the ability to occasionally move about the property to access job-related equipment, machinery, facilities, etc. Must be able to push, pull, and transport up to 20 Pounds.
